About
Peter Cheer, Director
Peter started out working with people with learning disabilities who were moving out of hospital in the later 1980's. He went on to work as a home manager and area manager before moving to manage resettlement in Birmingham. He oversaw the successful closure of an old long stay hospital and commissioned a wide range of new services in the community. From 1999 to 2015, Peter worked at the national charity Sense. As operations director from 2009 he managed a £40m budget and had one of the best national CQC profiles. Peter left Sense to work independently in 2015 and has undertaken a wide range of work for local, regional and national organisations. He is also a trustee of Revitalise, a fantastic charity which provides respite holidays for disabled people, and he undertakes work as social care consultant for the sector leading law firm Anthony Collins Solicitors.
